Groundbreaking Ceremony (Bhoomi Poojan)
The Ram Temple's Groundbreaking Ceremony on August 5, 2020, attended by Indian PM Narendra Modi and dignitaries, marked the historic start of construction, celebrated by Lord Ram's devotees.
Architectural Details
The temple consist of three floors, each with a height of 20 feet. It is designed by architect Chandrakant Bhai Sompura, who comes from a renowned family of temple architects. The temple will have a total of 392 pillars and 44 doors. Its architectural style reflects the traditional Indian Nagara style temple architecture.
Material Used
The Ram Temple, crafted without steel or cement, prioritizes durability with traditional techniques and pink sandstone from Rajasthan. Its earthquake-resistant design ensures longevity for millennia, symbolizing resilience and enduring strength.
Time Capsule
During the groundbreaking ceremony, a time capsule with sacred soil from pilgrimage sites and water from major rivers was embedded in the foundation stone. The purpose of the time capsule is to preserve and protect the cultural heritage and ancient traditions of India.
