Charchika Temple

Charchika Temple, one of the most revered temples of Orissa, is located in the small town of Banki in Cuttack district. This temple of Orissa is dedicated to Goddess Charchika who is a manifestation of Maa Devi Durga. Goddess Chamunda, enshrined in the Shaktipitha at Banki on the bank of River Mahanadi, is worshipped as per the tantric rites. Charchika, among the famous temples of Orissa, was built in the 19th century.
