Godavari Tank Temple

The renowned sacred Godavari tank is enclosed by embankments especially made of laterite blocks. The sacred tank is famous for its natural spring along with outlet channel that lead to Bindusagar Lake. As per the Hindu mythology, when Goddess Parvati killed demons Basa and Kirti and felt thirsty, she went to this place. Lord Shiva struck trident on earth and a natural spring came out of it.
