Godavari Tank Temple

The sacred Godavari tank was constructed during 12th of century by Ganga rulers. It is said that Ganga ruler were great followers of Lord Shiva. It is believed that the water of Godavari tank is very sacred and can cure various skin diseases. The temple wherein this sacred Godavari tank is situated is renowned for celebrating Mahashivratri, a festival devoted to Lord Shiva. Moreover, during the festival of Mahashivratri, devotees gather here to dip into sacred water of the Godavari tank.
