History

The history says that Vilwamangalam Swamiyar, an ardent devotee of Lord Vishnu offered special prayers with full devotion to the Lord and Goddess Kali but failed to bring the divine presence. One fine day during his pilgrimage tour, he heard an anonymous voice. To his astonishment, it was Lord Vishnu and Goddess Kali. This story is also enacted during the major festival of the temple.
