Siddhivinayak Temple

Shree Siddhivinayak Ganapati Mandir is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Ganesha, the Elephant God. It is located in Prabhadevi, Mumbai, Maharashtra. It was originally built by Laxman Vithu and Deubai Patil on November 19, 1801.

Siddhivinayak Temple is a temple of eminent importance in Mumbai and is one of the wealthiest Temple in Maharashtra. Bollywood celebrities, Politicians and the famous businessmen of India incessantly came to Shree Shiddhivinayak Ganapati Temple for their blessings.

Siddhivinayak is well known as “Navasacha Ganapati” or “Navasala Pavanara Ganapati” (‘Ganapati bestows whenever humbly genuinely prayed a wish’ in Marathi) among devotees. Siddhivinayak or Lord Ganesha holds a very important position in the Hindu mythology. He is the son of Lord Shiva and Parvati. He has an elephantine countenance with the curved trunk and big ears, and a huge pot-bellied body of a human being. Ganesha is the lord of success and worshipped as the god of knowledge, education, wisdom and wealth. It is believed that any new work, new place or new possession will prosper if one prays to the lord before starting or using it.
